Upcycled bags from Switzerland
If having a product displayed at Museum of Modern Art is not enough for you to consider a purchase of the Freitag product, we might convince you in the following story of an amazing brand.
It is 1993 in Zurich, Switzerland and Freitag’s brothers Markus and Daniel are desperately looking for a waterproof, functional messenger bag for cycling. Living next door to a busy transit intersection, they were inspired by the colourful track tarpaulins that were passing by, and given their graphic design professions, the first F13 TOP CAT messenger bag was born.
The Freitag bag has become an instant hit by the locals and fast forward today, the brand is available in 26 stores and sold by 300 resellers, producing bags, backpacks, wallets and accessories made out of used track tarpaulins, seat belts and cycling tubes as well as producing its own compostable F-ABRIC.
