Sustainability is in the detail

It was summer 2013 in Hamburg, when Anna and Jula first started to discuss sustainable fashion over a glass of wine, wondering why there isn't stylish sustainable fashion label. And for Jula it made even more personal reason, as she gets itchy when touching heavily dyed fabrics.
Although it took them another year till thy establish the Jan’n'June brand, their fascination with sustainability is seen in every aspect of the brand’s life. Not only the products are made from natural or recycled materials, but the recycling goes into the finest detail of the business operations, such as using recycled printing paper and printing on both sides, reusing shipping boxes over and over again or as well as not using plastic packaging at all.

Every product made by Jan’n'June has a tag with a QR code, that will lead you to an ECO-ID, a sort of product’s passport, which shows you each step of production, from the resource stage to the completion of the item. Brand works with GOTS, IVN BEST (Internationaler Verband Naturtextilindustrie), GRS (Global Recycling Standard), OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified materials and processes and also uses the fabric offcuts to make covers for notebooks or scrunchies. On a top of making apparel the brand is also making shopping bags from old fishing nets and pillow cases from exceed fabric.
And in the light of the current events, their portfolio also includes face masks made out of neoprene offcuts, that are actually made of recycled waste form the oceans. That’s what we call attention to the detail, or rather to the sustainability.
